First Post!

My first post! Just got done watching One Hour Photo with my folks. Great movie. If you haven’t seen it yet I’d recommend seeing it soon. If possible, get the DVD because the special features with commentary from Robbin Williams and an interview of him on the Charlie Rose Show are pretty funny.

How about that recall election in California? Isn’t their constitution messed up?! I got this from some where (and once I remember I’ll post a link here), but there’s two choices for eligible voting residents in California. (Granted, this will only take place if a Federal Judge doesn’t stop the recall). The first choice is “Should Gray Davis be recalled? Yes or No. And the second that they have to answer regardless is: “Who (out of the 154 running!!!) should replace him?”. Keep in mind that Mr. Davis is not included among the choices in the second question. Let’s say that 49% of the electorate vote “No“. That means that 51% voted yes (a majority) and, therefore, the candidate with the most votes in the second question will be elected governor. Since there are 154 possible choices (but only 10 or so true candidates) a candidate will probably be elected with a very small majority, most likely a lot less than the 49% that didn’t want him recalled. I don’t really know enough Gray Davis and his policies to comment too much about him, but from what I’ve heard, he wasn’t very frank about a lot of the problems that Californians want him recalled for and he did run some “mean” ads about his opponents during the Republican primary.
