Madison’s huge 8K race, the Crazylegs Classic kicked off again this past Saturday (April 30th). There were a total of 9,065 runners and 4,505 walkers. The race starts on the Capital Square, winds along Lake Mendota, and then finishes at the newly remodeled Camp Randall. This was my third year competing in Crazylegs. My friend, Mike Williams, also came down for the weekend to run the race and enjoy the festivities. I finished with a time of 30:25, good enough for 77 overall. I am very happy about the place but was hoping for a sub-30′ time…maybe next year. Mike did outstanding! He finished 45 overall and ran a 29:15. The winner, Dan Sutton, finished in a remarkable 25:08.
